Erectile dysfunction medications took in Glengormley

Large quantities of have been seized by Department of Health authorities during a search of a house in Glengormley.

A man was spoken with by department officers about unlawfully importing and subsequently providing unlicensed impotence medications through the web.

The 47-year-old was also questioned about other medication offences.

He will now be the subject of a report to the general public Prosecution Service.

The search was performed by the department's Medicines Regulatory Group.

Its senior enforcement workplace, Peter Moore, said: "It is crucial that we get the message across that unlicensed medications can be harmful.

"These types of products being sold, typically online, have undergone no quality control and there can be no assurance about their safety.

"You merely do not know what you are taking or the conditions these products were made in. More significantly, you do not understand the effect drugs like this may have on your health."
